The Hunt
The young girl plunged through the undergrowth, not caring as the tangled undergrowth ripped at her gown. The beast was right behind her, she could almost feel its breath on her bare back as she struggled deeper into the woods.
Her eyes hunted the gloom wildly, desperate to find a place to hide for the few moments it would take to turn the tables on the monster, but there was nowhere large enough for her amidst the tree roots and leaf mulch.
Her bare feet were bleeding from the myriad cuts as she pounded them into the ground hard, pushing the limits of her body to stay out of the monster's reach.
